With one of the largest delegations ever, consisting of 89 Italian student-athletes accompanied by 28 official staff members, doctors and technicians, the Italian University team is ready for the FISU Winter Games in Torino 2025.
The FISU (Italian University Sports Federation), with the technical collaboration of the FISI, FISG, FISIP and FISO Federations, has defined the composition of the Italian University delegation that will take part in the Torino 2025 Winter Universiade from 13 to 23 January. The 89 student-athletes, from 30 different Italian universities, will compete in 12 of the sports disciplines on the Torino 2025 programme, with the exception of ice hockey. The boys and girls will be accompanied by 28 official staff members consisting of official staff, doctors and technicians and will compete at venues in the municipalities of Torino, Bardonecchia, Pragelato and Sestriere.
A few days before the opening ceremony, scheduled for 13 January, the President of FederCUSI – the Italian Federation of University Sport, Antonio Dima, expresses his thoughts: ‘Our delegation is competitive, motivated and numerous. On the eve of the event, I believe I am interpreting a noble common feeling: more than podiums, I like to think about growth, cooperation and development also in social terms that belong to an event of this magnitude. The Universiade is a theatre for those who will become leaders and managers of the participating countries, and not only in sport. So, winter disciplines as a school of life. A Gymnasium for the growth of the university movement. Today and always.’
