To give our planet a future, we need everyone. The Organising Committee of the Torino 2025 World University Games Winter has created BRAINstorm: 9 challenges related to the issues of the moment to be answered through projects and ideas. Climate change, energy sustainability and the ability to create social cohesion and new work models. The national phase is underway and all teams from Italian universities are called to participate.

Exactly as the Universiade was born in Torino in 1959, from Piemonte capital comes the first University challenge, which in 2025 will bring talents from around the world to the field in the brain challenge side by side with competitions on snow and ice. The innovation, espoused by FISU, involves nine disciplines chosen by the four Universities in Piemonte: Università di Torino, Politecnico di Torino, Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo e Università del Piemonte Orientale.  

During the International Book Fair, the Italian challenge was launched to select students of any nationality, but enrolled in Italian universities, who will go on to make up the Italian National Team of Knowledge. This phase will close on October 13, 2023, with the winners announced on January 13, 2024. On this date, exactly one year after the Opening Ceremony of the XXXII edition of the World University Winter Games, the international challenge will also be launched to define the teams that will challenge the best students from Italian Universities.

To find out in detail what it is all about, 9 online live broadcasts are scheduled, in which the different challenges will be presented: 2 live broadcasts per week for 4 weeks. Each challenge will have its own specific invitation, but the link to connect to will always remain the same. Why participate? To make your contribution to save our planet. The best projects will receive prizes such as contributions and mentoring.

EGIDIO DANSERO: June 13 at 6 p.m., for the Sustainability challenge promoted by the University of Torino.

ALBERTO RAINOLDI: June 15 at 6:30 p.m., for the Life challenge promoted by the University of Torino.

LORIS ANTONIO SERVILLO: June 22 at 6 p.m., for the Cities challenge promoted by the Politecnico of Torino.

ROMANO BORCHIELLINI: June 26, 6 p.m., for the Energy challenge promoted by the Politecnico of Torino.

ELISABETTA GALEOTTI: June 29, 6 p.m., for the Inequalities challenge promoted by the University of Piemonte Orientale.

GIANLUCA AIMARETTI: July 4, 6 p.m., for the Aging challenge promoted by the University of Piemonte Orientale.

MICHELE FINO: July 11, 6 p.m., for the Food challenge promoted by the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo.

NICOLE VIOLA: TBD – 6 p.m., for the Space challenge promoted by the Politecnico of Torino.
