Torino will host the flag handover between Lucerne and Lake Placid and the lighting of the Flame of Knowledge for Chengdu

Turin runs towards 2025. In four years, the capital of the Piemonte region will be the winter host site of the World University Games, just as it happened recently on the Olympic mountains in 2007. A long relay that will have another fundamental handover because, given the cancellation of the Lucerne 2021 edition, scheduled for last December, on Monday afternoon (starting at 3pm) a delegation from the Swiss city will be present in the courtyard of the Rectorate of the University of Turin to deliver the flag of the FISU (the world’s largest university body) to Lake Placid, which will host the Winter Games in 2023, or two years before Turin.

A little later, there will be another great moment of the day organized by CUS Torino with the collaboration of CUSI and FISU: the lighting of the Flame of Knowledge, leaving for Chengdu, which from 26 June to 7 July will host the next summer edition of the World University Games. Once the brazier is lit, the path of the flame will start and will touch the suggestive “Gallery of the Kings” of the Egyptian Museum and the Valentino Castle, seat of the Department of Architecture and Design of the Polytechnic of Turin.
