Torre Pellice will proudly be one of the venues for the 2025 FISU Games, upholding the legacy of Turin 2006, where the then-new ice arena hosted training and the following year served as the Universiade competition venue. Then renamed “Cotta Morandini,” the ice rink became the home of the local field hockey team, the HC Valpellice Bulldogs, and over the years has hosted various sporting and cultural events, stages, and performances.
Torre Pellice not only has a strong tradition in ice hockey, but also in mountain sports. In those parts, sport is not only entertainment, but also and above all has a cultural and educational value, especially related to the territory.
This is evidenced by the fact that the Piedmontese municipality is home to a sports high school and many young athletes live and study there. The wish of the municipal administration is that some university students from the valley will be on the Italian field hockey team that will compete in 2025! The many cultural events that Torre Pellice hosts, such as the “A Tower of Books” review, also always have an open window on education and knowledge of the surrounding area and mountains.
