Requirements to become a TORINO 2025 Volunteer:

  • Be 18 years old by December 15, 2024 (there is no upper age limit)
  • Be in possession of Italian and European citizenship, or non-European with a regular entry visa if necessary.
  • Be available at least six non-consecutive days during the event period.
  • Attend required training sessions
  • Respect the rules of conduct established by the Organizing Committee and accept the terms and conditions of participation provided

VOLUNTEERING AREAS

ACCOMMODATION

Volunteers are located within the hotels and/or villages with the task of assisting delegations and athletes by providing informations on the services dedicated to them. They support the Staff and they manage all the requests, collaborating at the same time with the Accreditation, Transport and Sport functions.

ACCREDITATION

Volunteers are called upon to support the Accreditation Team, before and during the event. Tasks range from checking personal data to the production of Accreditation Cards, the actual documents needed by all those involved in the event. One of the major tasks they face, in cooperation with the other team members, is dealing with emergency situations relating to accreditation.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The task of the function is to provide the best quality and variety of food at the best price, guaranteeing an excellent level of health and safety. The Volunteers assist the Staff in organising the distribution of meals according to different needs to all accredited participants and support the arrangement of separate waste collection according to sustainability policies to minimise environmental impact.

DELEGATION ATTACHEE'

The Delegation Attaché is a real bridge between the assigned team and Organising Committee. The tasks are to welcome the group at the airport/station, accompany the delegation to the hotel and to the competition site, verify the team's needs and pass them on to his/her own supervisor, assist in the accreditation of the group's members, verify their correctness and remain at the delegation's disposal for any needs that may arise.

SPORT

At each competition Venue there is a group of Specialist Volunteers, called Technical Specialists, in various disciplines, to support the Competition Manager and Venue Manager. Their role is to support activities on the competition field or in the management of the Venue services. The Technical General Volunteer, on the other hand, carries out assistance work in the competition offices, prepares team leader meetings and is available to give technical and sporting information to team leaders. He/she provides assistance to FISU technical delegates as well as to IF

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

This function provides a crucial service for the success of the event. The main responsibility is to coordinate all arrivals and departures of accredited participants according to schedule. Volunteers support staff in the reception at the airport or station, with assistance in transfers from the latter to the various accommodation sites and vice versa. A&D work closely with the authorities by coordinating with the Accommodation, Accreditation and Transportation functions and must be ready to handle any scenario that may arise.

PROTOCOL

Volunteers check that people accessing the VIP stand and the VIP Hospitality area are accredited and that the catering service is present. For the ceremonies, as soon as the competition is over, the winning athletes are assembled and the necessary material (medals, mascots) is prepared, supporting the staff in logistics and the parade. There are also the International & FISU Relations Volunteers whose task is to inform members of FISU, the Executive Committee and institutions about the activities of the Universiade, Cultural Program, Arrivals and Departures but also to provide assistance such as accompanying, translating and driving.

SCHOOL PROJECT

The School Project Volunteers support the Organising Committee Staff in the management and reception of students, teachers and school staff during the event, becoming one of their contact persons in the different Venues. In addition, they support check-in and management of reserved access and provide information and communication material on the various sports competitions, cultural initiatives and scheduled events.

MEDIA SERVICES

The Volunteer provides assistance to accredited media both in the main press centre and at the venues. He/she supports the control of access reserved for accredited press (press rooms, press and photographer's stand, conference room and mixed zone) and performs secretarial services providing information about the event and the athletes.

LOGISTIC

The Volunteers support the Staff in the management and handling of materials required for the event and the Organising Committee in setting up, dismantling and managing the warehouse. His/her activity also consists of distributing the uniforms of Volunteers and Staff in the pre-event phase

MARKETING

The Volunteers support the management of the reception with sponsors and the implementation of the event's communication policy, as well as helping with the set up and look of the venues and the city. Among the different activities he/she can carry out are Brand Protection and Ambush Marketing, promotion and engagement at promotional stands and finally Digital E-Mail Marketing.

SPECIAL PROJECT

Volunteers support the Committee Staff in organising and managing side of collateral and specific events but also in managing the calendar of activities dedicated to the FISU Family. An other activity is to welcome and interact with all guests during the events and manage communication materials.

EVENT SERVICES

The main objective is to ensure the best possible experience for the spectator. The aim is to create positive memories related to the Games and the host region. Volunteers help the public by providing clear information through info points, lost and found, merchandising and refreshment services. In addition, they support the staff in managing flows within the Venue during sports competitions and cultural events.

TECHNOLOGY

The major responsibility of the function is to test technology/unloading areas and to ensure access to the car parks for authorised vehicles, supporting the management systems and to handle emergency situations in the immediacy in the daily routine. Volunteers support the Organising Committee Staff in IT support and networks within the different venues.

TICKETING

The Volunteers indicate and control the flow of spectators inside and outside the Venue, giving indications for the correct positioning on the stands in the dedicated areas, as well as when entering and exiting the various sectors, supporting the Staff in charge of detaching and checking tickets so that people can line up in the correct rows. They also assist spectators in special areas such as VIP, special needs, groups and service areas.

TRANSPORTATION

Within the function there are Volunteers called Transport Operations, who are involved in the operational management of transport in the various venues. Their job is to manage the loadint of vehicle flows. In addition, they must ensure the departure of WUG fleet vehicles on time and the management of transport desks. Fleet Drivers Volunteers are those who are at least 23 years old and drive fleet vehicles.

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

The main task is to support the activity planning of all the Volunteers involved during the event, providing them with constant support so that they can enjoy a unique experience. Specifically, by carrying out the following activities: assisting in the management of the Volunteer Centre, carrying out check-in and check-out operations together with meal delivery and supporting any functional area in case of a last-minute need.

Anyone is welcome to join the FISU Games Torino 2025 Volunteer Programme. Please bear in mind, however, that we cannot support you in covering travel and accommodation expenses.

No, there is no pay or reimbursement of expenses for volunteering.
