Less than a week to go before the arrival of the colourful river of some 70 flags that will parade through Torino and the Olympic Valleys on the occasion of the 32nd edition of the Torino 2025 FISU World University Games – known to the world as the Universiade – scheduled from 13 to 23 January. As many as 13 disciplines of competition will be hosted in 6 different locations (Torino, Pinerolo, Pragelato, Torre Pellice, Bardonecchia and Sestriere): a real feast for lovers of winter sports that will feature 55 nations, with over 2,500 athletes and delegates (including 88 Italian athletes) ready to unleash their sporting passion – combined with their commitment to study and university careers – to win one of the 90 titles up for grabs.
‘This 32nd edition of the Games was born under the banner of sustainability and represents a crucial milestone towards 2030,’ says the President of the Organising Committee Alessandro Ciro Sciretti. ‘For us, the goal is not only to make the Games themselves sustainable, from planning to legacy initiatives, but also to become a powerful platform for climate action through initiatives aimed at restoring climate balance. The logistical solutions adopted, in particular the smart mobility organised to reach the competition venues, are also part of this. We would like to thank the City of Torino and Gtt for supporting us on this path with regard to travel in the City of Torino’.
The Organising Committee has in fact entered into a partnership with the City Council – through the MaaS ToMove, Mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) service – which provides a special promotion for getting around Torino. All mobility, personalised and sustainable, in a single app just a click away, thanks to the Mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) concept, travelling with GTT public transport and taxis, but also scooters, e-bikes and motor scooters, using just one app.
MaaS ToMove is offering a ‘special voucher’ worth €10 to all visitors in possession of an admission ticket to the Torino 2025 FISU World University Games, which can be used to cover 50% of the cost of all GTT, taxi, scooter, bike and motor scooter rides available on the Super Apps participating in the initiative.
