On the occasion of the ninth World University Sports Day, on September 20th, the flame will once again be lit in the courtyard of the Rettorato of the University of Turin, before embarking on a journey that will carry the Flame of Knowledge along an international route, returning to Turin for the XXXII FISU World University Games Winter (January 13-23, 2025).
The tour has been developed in line with the goals of the 2030 Agenda that the Committee aims to achieve:
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being: Ensure health and well-being for everyone and for all ages. The route includes a walk of approximately 3 km, which is considered the optimal distance to walk daily for individual health prevention against cardiovascular diseases.
Goal 4: Quality Education: Involvement of schools and universities as an opportunity to promote career orientation through sport for young people, and the enhancement of university students who become key players in the development of the Committee’s projects, including the “La Guarini” torch relay.
Goal 5: Gender Equality: The tour will ensure social inclusion and active participation of the community along the route of the torch.
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals: Engagement of local communities and stakeholders to create a legacy by building skills and new capacities.
