Bardonecchia and Sports

Bardonecchia and the world of sports have always been closely linked. The “Bardonecchia Ski Club” dates back, indeed, to the early 1900s and is one of the oldest in Italy, while in the 1930s the construction of the first sports and ski-lift facilities began. From those ages, a lot of progress has been made and the number of winter and summer sports disciplines present has expanded considerably as has the number of facilities and infrastructure.
A vocation, that of Bardonecchia, which is accompanied by great attention to the university sports world, as evidenced by the various editions of the National University Championships and the organization of the 2007 Winter Universiade.

Now the Alpine resort of Alta Val di Susa is strongly committed to the next big appointment that awaits it: the 2025 World University Games, which will see it host alpine skiing, snowboarding and freestyle competitions. After the inspections on the competition slopes last May 4 and 5 by FISU and FIS officials, Bardonecchia is ready to “wear” the Look of the City and continue on the road to the Universiade, with the ambition of becoming more and more a university sports resort.
