Art to Rebirth: An exhibition inspired by the FISU Games and created by children with recycled materials

The collaboration between the Municipality of Pinerolo and Torino 2025 continues in view of the next World University Games. On Sunday 17 September in Pinerolo, as part of the Porte Aperte allo Sport event, was displayed the Art to Rebirth exhibition, conceived by Essemme Studio and BUUM Sinergie in movimento.

The works inspired by the Torino 2025 FISU Games are the result of workshops that involved boys and girls from summer centres. The works were made using only recycled materials: blueberries, grapes, lemons and fruit of various kinds were used to create the colours that were spread on recycled fabrics and frames made from recycled wood. The exhibition launches the Universiade approach project dedicated to schools. In the coming months, the students of the Buniva Art School in Pinerolo will create works on the theme of the Torino 2025 countdown using recycled materials.

For Bruna Destefanis, Councillor for Sport of the City of Pinerolo: “The collaboration with Torino 2025 OC allows us to involve schools in training courses related to sustainability and recovery. Sport becomes a vector of communication of central themes for the community”.

For Alessandro Ciro Sciretti, President of the Organising Committee of Torino 2025: “On this day, when sport is celebrated and its values colour the City of Pinerolo, we are happy to continue our collaboration with the Municipality and be present to involve young people to become Ambassadors of Torino 2025 or to compete in the BRAINstorm mind games. Always with a precise focus on sustainability, as evidenced by the path we will start with the RUS Piedmont Network in the first programme meeting scheduled at the Castello del Valentino on 20 September, the International Day of University Sport”.

The Art to Rebirth exhibition will subsequently be transferred and set up at the Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio of Pinerolo, that in 2025 will host men’s ice hockey matches.
