Torino Airport is the official airport of the XXXIII World University Games Winter: signed today the Memorandum of understanding with Torino 2025 OC

Torino, 14 March 2024 – Torino Airport is preparing to welcome athletes and spectators from all over the world for the next University World Games Winter. Torino 2025 OC and the Torino Airport signed a memorandum of understanding this afternoon in view of the event which will bring around 3000 athletes and technicians to the city and the mountains of Piemonte from 13 to 23 January next year. From the beginning of 2024 the railway service will connect Torino Airport with Porta Susa station which will also be a hub for the other five locations involved in the FISU Games: Bardonecchia, Pragelato, Pinerolo, Torre Pellice and Sestriere.

In addition to becoming the official airport of the Games born in Torino in 1959 with the name of Universiade, Torino Airport has been busy since last January (on the occasion of the -1 year to the Opening Ceremony) for the promotion of the event and the territory involved.

These are the words of the president of the Torino 2025 University Games Winter, Alessandro Ciro Sciretti: «Having Torino as the official airport of the Games is very important in the logic of promoting the territory. In this way, we will welcome student athletes from every corner of the planet in an efficient structure like the one made available by Torino Airport. We are happy to be able to count on the institutions of Piemonte, which are supported by many local companies such as Torino Airport, which support our great event. In these two months, since registrations opened, 60 countries have already applied to participate.”
